1. Who We Are
Farmlyest LLC (“Farmlyest,” “we,” “us”) operates farmlyest.com, a free directory of farmers markets, vendors and farms. We are based in Missouri, United States. Contact: hello@farmlyest.com
2. Information We Collect
Information you give us:
- Email address — when you subscribe to updates, create a shopper account to save favorites, or sign in to manage a listing.
- Listing information — when you claim or add a vendor or market listing, or edit it from your dashboard: business name, location, products, schedule, website and social links, photos, contact details, short updates you post, and details you check about your business (such as growing practices, payment options or market amenities).
- Vendor lists from markets — a market manager may add the vendors who sell at their market, including a vendor’s email or phone number so we can invite them to their free listing.
- Communications — when you email us or reply to our emails.
Information collected automatically:
- Usage data — pages viewed, searches, clicks and similar activity, through Google Analytics and our own records. We count views and saves of each listing so owners can see how their listing is doing.
- Search terms — the products and places people search for, along with the general location the search was centered on. These records are not tied to your name or account.
- Approximate location — our hosting provider tells us your approximate city based on your IP address, which we use to show markets near you when you open the search pages. If you choose “Near Me,” your browser shares a more precise location, with your permission, to run that search.
- Device and security information — browser type, device type and IP address. When you sign in, we keep a one-way scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address to limit repeated sign-in attempts.
Information from public sources:
- Much of the directory is built from publicly available information: market and vendor websites, public Facebook and Instagram pages, U.S. Department of Agriculture directories, and other public listings. Some listing descriptions are written with the help of AI from that public information.
- If your business is listed and you would like something corrected or removed, claim your listing or email hello@farmlyest.com.
3. How We Use Information
- To run the directory and search, including showing listings near you
- To create, verify and manage vendor and market listings, and to let owners edit them
- To sign you in and keep your saved favorites
- To send emails you asked for, and service emails such as sign-in links, claim confirmations and listing updates
- To invite businesses to claim or complete their free listing (see Section 4)
- To show owners how many people viewed or saved their listing
- To understand how the site is used, improve it, and protect it from abuse and bots
- To produce aggregate statistics about farmers markets (see Section 5)
4. Emails
If you subscribe, you will receive periodic updates. If you own a listed business, we may email you about your listing — for example, to invite you to claim it, to confirm changes, or to tell you about new owner tools. A vendor added by a market may receive an invitation to their free listing.
You can opt out at any time by replying “unsubscribe” or emailing hello@farmlyest.com. Service emails you request, such as sign-in links, are sent regardless. We use Resend to deliver email.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information.
- Public listings — listing information is public by design: business name, location, products, schedule, links, photos, posted updates and the details an owner checks. Contact details a market adds for a vendor are kept private and are not shown on the site.
- Aggregate statistics — we may share or license statistics about markets, vendors, products and search trends (for example, the number of markets accepting SNAP in a state, or how often a product is searched) with government agencies, researchers and partners. These statistics are aggregated and are not tied to any individual person. We never sell or share email lists or vendor contact lists.
- Service providers — companies that help us operate the site, listed in Section 7, only as needed to provide their service.
- Legal reasons — if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety or property of Farmlyest, our users or others.
- Business transfer — if Farmlyest is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
6. Details Owners Report
Details such as “Certified Organic (USDA),” “No-Spray / Pesticide-Free,” payment methods and market amenities are reported by the listing’s owner. Farmlyest does not verify them. Please confirm anything important directly with the vendor or market.
7. Service Providers
- Supabase — database (data stored in the United States)
- Vercel — website hosting; provides approximate location from IP address
- Google Analytics — site usage measurement
- Cloudflare Turnstile — bot protection on sign-in
- Resend — email delivery
- Anthropic — AI used to help write listing descriptions from public business information
- Apify — collecting publicly posted vendor information from market social media pages
- U.S. Census Bureau geocoder — placing market addresses on the map
- OpenStreetMap — maps on listing pages
Each provider has its own privacy policy.
8. Cookies and Similar Technologies
- Sign-in cookies — keep you signed in for up to 90 days, or until you sign out. You can sign out of every device from your dashboard.
- Analytics cookies — set by Google Analytics to measure site usage.
- Security — Cloudflare Turnstile may use cookies or similar technology to tell people from bots.
- Browser storage — if you save favorites without an account, they are stored in your browser.
We do not use advertising cookies or ad-tracking pixels. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some features, like staying signed in, may not work without them.
9. Data Storage, Security and Retention
Data is stored with Supabase in the United States, with access controls in place, and all connections to the site are encrypted. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
- Sign-in links work once and expire shortly after they are sent.
- Subscriber emails are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
- Shopper accounts and saved favorites are kept until you ask us to delete them.
- Listing information is kept while the business is listed. Edit history is kept so changes can be reviewed or undone.
10. Your Choices and Rights
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you, and give you a copy
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your information or your account
- Remove or correct your business listing
- Stop sending you emails
Email hello@farmlyest.com. We will respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your state’s privacy law, and we will honor them.
11. Children
Farmlyest is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the site changes. The “Last updated” date above shows the latest version. For material changes, we will notify subscribers and listing owners by email.
